Sponsored Post: Finding God’s Welcome in the Midst of Loss (and Why One Chapter Can Shift a Life)

I opened Chapter 7 of Uninvited this week and it felt like stepping into a mirror held by grace. The chapter is titled “When Our Normal Gets Snatched,” and that wording alone landed deeply in my spirit. For many of us, heartbreak doesn’t just feel like loss — it feels like our story got erased before we even understood the plot. Our identities are written in the rhythms of expectation: morning texts, future plans, imagined holidays. When those rhythms disappear, it feels like we’re left with emptiness — like we were never really invited at all.

Reading this book one chapter a week has done something profound to my mindset. Instead of rushing for quick reassurance or self-programmed pep talks, I’m learning to sit with truth, to let each chapter recalibrate my nervous system and my theology. This week’s slow read brought a revelation so simple and so radical: I am always accepted by God — even when earthly plans and hearts get broken.

This wasn’t instant wisdom. It was cumulative: a weekly gravity shift. As I read about the way our minds build futures faster than reality can finalize them, something in me relaxed. I realized that much of my pain wasn’t that God abandoned me — it was that I abandoned my own peace by overinvesting in projected realities. God’s acceptance isn’t conditional on outcomes. It’s constant, like sunlight on fog. The fog is real, but the sun never left.

In this season, God is redefining my “normal.” He’s showing me that being uninvited by people does not mean being unaccepted by God. And every time I sit with a chapter of this book, I’m less inclined to scramble for human invitations and more inclined to rest in divine welcome.

So here’s the invitation: as you shape your year, consider what you’re reading and how it’s shaping your inner world. I’ll be checking back in as I continue to read Uninvited — one chapter at a time — and processing what God reveals along the way.

If you’re reading something this year that’s nudging your heart, stirring your soul, or shifting your thinking, drop the title in the comments. Let’s build a reading rhythm that inspires us to become more aware, more healed, and more anchored in God’s acceptance — no matter what life snatches from us.
